AFK- The Life of Potty Training

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile. I've been working with my three year old lil man on potty training. It seems he has this great hatred for Elmo telling him good job. I even got him these targets and he throws them in and walks away. *shakes head* The hectic part, but great part, is my one and a half year old little girl is all over this. She even comes and gets me to take her to the potty. So, now I'm training both. LOL. That's why I haven't been on. Most of my day is dashing one or the other to the potty. Anyway, I apologize and will try to get something out soon. Have a great weekend! BTW Thank you authors for the blog hop this week. I have been hopping around and have learned so much. Thank you for being excellent educators to us readers:)

Vintage Romance Cover O.O

I guess  you could say this is where they got the idea for She's All That.  I don't know what is more alarming; the fact that it says true to life, his shirt, or her pants.

Spa Tip Of The Day: How To Self Hand Massage

Here is a great article on the www.livestrong.com website on How to Self Massage. I thought this would be great for the cramped hand of an author or blogger. Have a great day. Hands 1. Stroke the back of your hand, pushing firmly up toward the wrist and gliding back gently. Then squeeze the hand all over, pressing it between your palm and your fingers. 2. Squeeze each finger and make circular pressures over the joints with your thumb. Then hold the finger at its base and pull it gently to stretch it, sliding your grip up the finger and off the tip. 3. Stroke between the tendons on the back of the hand with your thumb. Stroke in the furrow to the wrists, doing four strokes in each furrow. 4. Turn your hand over and support the back with your fingers. Do firm circular and static pressures with your thumb, working all over the palm and around the wrist. 5. Finish the massage by stroking the palm of your hand from the fingers to the wrist. Push into it with the heel of your other hand, then glide gently back and repeat. I have two inspirational quotes for you today.  Have a great day!

"If my doctor told me I had six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood.  I'd type a little faster."
Isaac Asimov

"There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book.  Books are well written or badly written."
Oscar Wilde

And a quick shout out to Tam.  Thank you for helping the rookie on her blog and answering her silly questions.

Monday GRL Albuquerque Author Ethan Day

One of the things you will learn or may already know is that my sis and I are very close.  My sister Stephani, is a M/M author.  Anyway, sis called me up last year and said, "Want to go on vacation with me?"  She told me about the GRL Retreat and by the end of the conversation, I had already registered while talking to her.  Needless to say this is our sister vacation every year from now.  To celebrate, I will be promoting a GRL author twice a week since there are eighty of you and once a week will leave authors out.  This will introduce you to the amazing authors and give you a chance to read their books before meeting them if you are going to the retreat.

So today, I'm going to start off with a bang with none other than Ethan Day.  Ethan is one of the coordinators of the retreat.  I had the pleasure of meeting him last year and what a fantastic person he is.  I'm actually going to show you two books by Ethan.  His latest, Anything For You and my favorite of his, Self Preservation.  These are two great romantic comedies.

To Ethan, It will be a pleasure to see you again this year.  I hope you will not have a soap stealing ghost at your hotel room this year :)  Steph and I will bring an extra travel size gel for you, just in case you run into the same predicament.

Check out his spectacular website at http://ethanday.com/home.html
He has the links to where you can purchase his books on his website.  B&N, Amazon, and All Romance Ebooks to name a few.

Jason Miller is still in the closet. He's never found a reason to kick the door open, walk into the light of day, and tell the world he's gay. At least that's what he keeps telling himself -- along with a multitude of other solid arguments. As an ad man, he's used to hawking a bill of goods, he just never imagined he'd fall victim to his own hype.
When ex-activist/coming out guru, Chad Wellington came along, he was the one thing Jason never saw coming. Like a moth to a flame these two opposites ignite leaving Jason to decide if he can handle the heat.

Davis is a Historic Preservationist who’s stuck in the past. It’s been six years since his steamy four year relationship with stage actor Jack Monroe ended and Davis still can’t imagine his life with anyone other than Jack, the only man he’s ever loved.
When Jack calls and invites Davis to his wedding to Tadd Austin, a prominent architect in Chicago, Davis is stunned. There’s no way in hell Davis can stand by and watch the life he always expected to get back slip away to some guy Jack barely knows. Tadd Austin, indeed…more like Toad Ass-ton, Davis thinks. He’s going to the wedding with only one goal in mind. To do whatever it takes to win back Jack…the Toad is toast!
Jack is stuck between the possibilities of what could be with Tadd and the passionate past he had with Davis. In the short amount of time Tadd has known Jack, he’s fallen hard. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep from losing the new love in his life.
Alex Parker is a wealthy British playboy who’s always had a different guy on his arm and in his bed. He’s never been one for convention and is a bit taken back when he stumbles across Davis. He’d like nothing better than to knock Jack out of Davis’s head once and for all.
Only true love will survive as the tug of war ensues in this Bermuda love triangle from hell.

Have a great day everyone!  Thank you Ethan.

Sunday Romance Funnies

One of my favorite things to do as a child growing up was to read the Sunday Funnies/Comics.  I can openly admit, that I did not start reading for a hobby until my sister shoved a copy of Harry Potter in my face.  I can feel the stink eyes now.  What's worse, I did not start reading romance until J. R. Ward came out with her third book.  Again, my sister shoved those books in my face.  Gasp!  Slap me on the wrist!  It's okay.  Just know going forward, I was knocking on her door asking her to hurry up and tell me what romance novel to read next.  I'm getting off topic here.

So, I searched around and found some amazing Romance writer comics out there.  I have recently sent out requests for permission to post on here.
However, Doug Savage from http://www.savagechickens.com/ posted that it is okay for us bloggers to come on and post a comic monthly.  Please go check out his site. So thank you Doug for letting us share your talent and giving us a dose of humor, the best medicine.

What's the evil object that causes you to get writer's block?

Romance Cover Of The 1960's

I wasn't for sure where to start my blog at.  One of my favorite blogger Chris from Stumbling Over Chaos, does this hilarious and creative piece on stock photography cover.  I must admit, this is where this idea came from.  What if I did a section weekly on blast from the past covers.

So here you have cover of the week.  I decided to pick this one because I am in love with the floating heads that remind me of Easter eggs and wanted to get into the holiday spirit.  The other reason, is this is one of the few where the female in the pic isn't crying.  I'm sure I'll be posting some down the road, but I wanted to start on a little happier note here.

So, let me know what you think.  Have a great Saturday!

Welcome Authors!

I just wanted to take a moment to welcome all authors out there and to explain my blog. This is a site where you can come to without feeling anything less than what you are, amazing. This is a blog in which all authors are welcome. If you have been published whether ebook, paper, self...your all are equals here. Comments that treat you other than that will be deleted. We do not discriminate on content here. I will embrace all genres under the category of romance. There will be times that I will blog on positive news or inspirational pictures that pertain to romance authors. My motto is simple here: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

BTW: Please be patient with me. I'm so green at this I'm likely to make many mistakes:)
